About Kevin
I started working with WordPress in 2010 — the year WordPress 3.0 came out and the platform was just starting to feel like a proper CMS rather than a blogging tool. Back then, most South African businesses were still figuring out whether they needed a website at all. Fifteen years later, I’ve built, fixed, hosted, and optimised more websites than I can count, and the problems businesses run into online haven’t changed as dramatically as the technology has.
Advertising Solutions Web Design grew out of work I was doing in Boksburg from 2014. I registered the company in 2015 and built it up over the next decade largely through word of mouth — which, honestly, is the feedback metric I trust most. We relocated to Pretoria in 2025, but our client base spans Gauteng and well beyond.

What I Work On
My background isn’t just front-end design. The work I do every day spans the full web stack:
- WordPress development — custom theme builds, plugin configuration, migrations, performance tuning
- Server administration — setting up and managing Linux servers with WHM/cPanel, LiteSpeed Web Server, HTTP/3, OPcache, and MariaDB
- Web hosting — running our own dedicated infrastructure for 300+ hosted websites and 20+ reseller accounts
- Web security — malware removal, firewall setup, SSL configuration, hardening WordPress installations
- SEO — technical audits, on-page optimisation, schema markup, local SEO, content strategy
- Website speed — Core Web Vitals, caching, image optimisation, server-level performance tuning
- Business email — domain email setup, DNS configuration, email deliverability
That depth matters because most of the problems I solve aren’t just one layer deep. A slow website usually isn’t just a theme issue — it’s a server configuration issue, a caching issue, and an image issue at the same time. Being able to look at all of it without handing off to a third party is what makes the difference.
Why I Write
The how-to content I publish here covers things I deal with in real projects: setting up custom email on a cPanel server, diagnosing a WordPress speed issue, understanding what a technical SEO audit actually surfaces, configuring LiteSpeed cache correctly. It’s practical, specific, and based on what works — not repackaged documentation.
If I’ve spent two hours tracking down a fix, writing it up takes thirty minutes and saves the next person those two hours. That’s the deal.
